The other day I ran across a meme about a talking snake convincing two naked people to eat a piece of fruit…it was mocking Christians…and I got it. Seriously…it sounded really funny…actually quite foolish that anyone would believe that a talking snake convinced two naked people to eat a piece of fruit and then everyone became a sinner separated from God. Then it just became super clear (as though it wasn’t already clear, but it was just highlighted with a greater understanding)that you cannot know God or believe His word except by the Spirit of God.
I guess I had a mental picture of
1 Corinthians 2:14. (I’m a visual person 😊)
“But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”
Then today as I was scrolling through FB I saw something that caused me to question how anyone could look at the human body and everything it consist of…all the details (which are far beyond my understanding and knowledge) and question a Creator God yet believe that there was just a Big Bang some where at some time and we just happened…well we eventually evolved from some lesser Big Bang being.
Which takes more faith? They both take a lot of faith, but you only believe by the spirit. You either believe that God is creator God and Jesus is His Son by the Spirit of God or you believe in the Big Bang Theory by the spirit of this world.
As for me…I believe that the talking snake convinced those two naked people to eat that piece of fruit and that brought a separation between man and God, BUT GOD in His great love had a plan. Yep…His only Son, Jesus, would leave heaven and come to earth as a man and He would die a brutal death as an innocent man and He would raise to life again and ascend to heaven and in doing this He made a way for man (Me) to be restored to right relationship with God…my creator. He then sent His Spirit to dwell within man so that we might have faith to believe!
If you don’t know Jesus…there is no better time than now! He loves you!
