2023 … What Do You See?

Happy New Year!

As we enter into this new year I would like to take just a moment and talk about vision. For those of us who live our lives daily by seeing what’s around us, we understand how important our vision is and we understand how distracting and often dangerous it is when our vision is distorted for any reason. Maybe the sun shines too brightly in our eyes and we can’t see what’s in front of us for a brief moment. Maybe sand, or dust, or a bug blows into our eyes and until we remove it we cannot see clearly or maybe not at all. Maybe we have something going on with our eyes that is out of our control, it’s a medical issue, but it is affecting the way we see…which in turn affects the way we live by limiting our ability to function as we normally would. We rely so heavily upon our vision that most of us go yearly to make sure everything still looks good internally and that we are in no danger of losing our vision. We understand the importance of clear vision. So I ask…It’s 2023…What do you see?

I don’t know about you but I always look forward to hearing what the Lord has for me in the coming year. He usually starts speaking concerning the new year in December without me realizing it at the moment, but then He will tie it all together in our time just before the new year. So last night, as I was getting ready to sit and have some time with Him, I heard in my spirit, “2023…What do you see?” It’s kinda funny because my first thought was, “haha…You rhymed”. I knew it was Him and I knew I needed to write those words down. As soon as I began to write those words in my journal, He begin downloading the deeper meaning of that question into my spirit. It was so strong that I could SEE it. I understood the Lord was saying to me that my “vision” this year is of utmost importance. My vision…what I see…will be the driving force that steers the direction of my life…like a ships rudder. I have the choice as to what I will see…what I will give my time, attention, and faith to. Will I choose to look at things happening all around me with my natural eyes and allow those things to steer the direction of my life or will I stay connected to the Father and what He is saying and doing and allow that to be the driving force of my life? I know that is the question God was asking me. I also know that when He asks a question, it is never because He doesn’t know the answer…it’s because He needs me (you) to know the answer. His questions are usually multi-faceted and deep like a well.

You see, God had already been speaking to me about trusting Him, and letting me know that when He speaks a word to us, He already has everything place to bring that word to pass. He already has everything arranged and assembled in the courts of heaven… He already has legions of angels on standby just waiting to be sent to help us. He’s ready! He doesn’t speak just to speak. He speaks because He desires for us to “see” what He is saying and believe and say like Mary, “Let it be to me according to Your word.” Amen?!! During this time He brought to my remembrance four specific words spoken to me starting back in 2001 and quickened my spirit to believe for them to come to pass this year. He was already preparing me through the month of December (actually through all of 2022) to understand the fullness of the question He would ask me on December 31, 2022. He knew at that moment all of these individual happenings would come together as an answer to the question He had for me.

In John 5:19, Jesus tells us that the Son can do nothing of Himself. He does only what He sees the Father doing. Whatever the Father does, the Son also does.

So, tucked away in that question, “2023…What do you see?” He was really saying…If you see what I’m doing and you do what you see Me doing, you believe the words that I speak over you and line up with them, and you trust Me in it all…then your life will go in the direction I have planned and it will be abundantly full…filled with adventure, joy, hope, love, peace, miracles, etc. But if you see with your natural eyes and focus on the things around you, the things happening in this world, then your life will go in that direction…whatever that may look like.

I know what I am going to choose to see. He has already shown me so much, and even in my last talk on Let’s Talk Truth (I go live every Tuesday on Facebook and share God’s truth. If you’d like to know more…just message) I spoke under the unction of the Spirit saying, “Next year in December when I look back at myself…the person I am right now in December 2022…I will not be the same person. I will be a totally different person.” I said that like I knew it would be true. I said that with such confidence and boldness because it was God’s spirit leading me and He knew it was true. God knew the question He was about to ask me…and He knew my answer. He has been preparing me for this day! All of my days are already written in His book. (Psalm 139:16) He has already spoken the words and He has everything in place…He’s just been waiting on me and the right time.

So, I say to you… “2023…What do you see?” What will you allow to be the driving force behind your life? Will you see what the Father is doing and do what you see Him doing and live by faith? Or will you see what is happening all around you and line up with the world and live by sight? It’s your choice…it’s my choice…God is ready and waiting on us. Let’s choose to see what He is doing and follow Him and make 2023 the best year yet!
